Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to use Silma, including people who use a screen reader, keyboard navigation, zoom, or other assistive technology. This statement covers silma.app and app.silma.app.

Our target

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. We review new work against it and fix problems as we find them.

Known limitations

Silma does not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA yet. Areas we know need work:

• Embedded video players: videos from Instagram, TikTok and YouTube play in each platform's own player, which we do not control. Captions and controls depend on the platform.
• Social media videos: most public videos shown in Silma have no captions or audio descriptions from their creators.
• Charts and visual scores: some charts and score visuals may not yet have a full text equivalent.
• Colour contrast and focus: a few smaller labels and controls may fall short of contrast or visible focus requirements while we finish a redesign.
• Sign-in: sign-in and sign-up forms are provided by Clerk, our authentication provider, and follow its accessibility support.

If something in Silma is hard to use with your setup, or you need information in a different format, email support@silma.app and tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology you use. We will reply within 2 business days and aim to fix the problem, or give you another way to get what you need, within 30 days.
